These M&M Rice Krispie Treats are fun and easy to make. The brown butter, M&Ms, and tiny marshmallows make them taste even better. Add chocolate on top or spread it out for the best treat!

M&M Rice Krispie Treat – 11 tablespoons unsalted butter – 11 cups mini marshmallows divided – ¾ teaspoon vanilla extract – ½ teaspoon salt – 9 cups Rice Krispies cereal – ¾ cup M&M – Flaky sea salt optional, for sprinkling Chocolate Topping – 1 cup semisweet chocolate chip

Yum M&M Rice Krispies  Mist a 9x13-inch dish with baking spray. Allow additional parchment paper on two sides to facilitate removing the delights from the pan easier. Spray parchment paper lightly with baking spray.

Butter in a large pot over medium-low heat melts. First, stir occasionally. Whisk occasionally after butter melts. Bubbling will start. After it foams, whisk it consistently until it turns light amber and finally light golden brown.

In the pot, milk solids will sink. They will turn light brown, then the butter will deepen and smell nutty. Take the pan off the heat. The residual heat will turn brown parts amber, so keep whisking.

There will be light brown pieces on the pan bottom. Adding flavour. Continue immediately after leaving the brown butter in the saucepan. Combine 9 ¼ cups small marshmallows with brown butter and stir until melted.

Mix in vanilla and salt. Stir in the Rice Krispies to coat them with marshmallow butter. Wait 5 minutes to cool in the pot. After cooling, add the remaining 1 ¾ cups of marshmallows and M&Ms to the mixture.

Release the mixture onto the pan. Spread the ingredients evenly into the pan with your (greased or somewhat wet) hands, a greased spatula, or a leftover butter wrapper. Don't press down too hard to make treats hard.

Set the rice krispie treats for 30 minutes. Release them off the pan using parchment paper. Dip or drizzle the chocolate over the whole thing or slice and coat each square with chocolate. Enjoy!

Topped with chocolate  Pour chocolate chips into a microwave-safe bowl. Burst microwaves every 25 seconds. Between bursts, stir well. Just melt chocolate.

Dip goods in chocolate before or after cutting into squares. Instead, put melted chocolate on top or plunge squares in a shallow bowl of melted chocolate.
