Ready the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.Butter or spray with baking spray a casserole or baking dish that is 9 inches by 13 inches. Put aside for later.
Put 2 cups of pecans on a baking sheet and roast them for a few minutes. Be very careful not to burn them. Take out of the oven, let cool, and then chop loosely.

Mix the slightly cooled mashed potatoes with the "For the Potatoes" ingredients: brown sugar, melted butter, 1 cup chopped nuts, lightly beaten eggs, milk, salt, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Mix until smooth.
Spread half of the mashed sweet potato mix equally in the pan and level the surface with a spatula.Sprinkle half the Cinnamon Filling over mashed potatoes.
Spread the rest of the sweet mashed potato filling out equally, and use a spatula to smooth the top.On top of the mashed potatoes, sprinkle the Pecan Filling mix.
When using micro marshmallows, sprinkle them on top of the dish.Cover the top with the remaining cinnamon filling mixture and sprinkle it on.
The topping should be browned after thirty minutes in the oven, and the filling should have achieved the correct temperature.
If the marshmallow browns too soon, spray some foil with baking spray and cover the dish, greased side down, without touching the toppings.Warm serve.
