This Rainbow Bundt Cake looks complicated, but anyone can make it! Simple to create using a modified cake mix and gel food colouring for the finest rainbow layers. This cake is excellent for St. Patrick's Day or rainbow parties.
– 2-3 tablespoons all-purpose flour – shortening OR softened butter – 1 box (15.25 oz) vanilla cake mix – 1 box (3.4 oz) instant vanilla pudding mix – 1 cup full-fat sour cream – 1 cup vegetable or canola oil – 1 can (5 oz) evaporated milk – 4 large egg – gel food coloring – 3 cups powdered sugar – 1/3 cup heavy cream (or more as needed) – ½ teaspoon vanilla extract – rainbow sprinkle
Ingredients
Warm the oven up to 350℉.Spread a very thin layer of shortening or melted butter all over the inside of a 9- or 10-inch bundt pan to get it ready.
Move 2-3 tablespoons of flour around the bundt pan to stick to the shortening. Tapping and rotating the bundt pan helps the flour attach to all the interior surfaces.
Add vanilla cake mix, instant pudding mix, sour cream, oil, evaporate milk, and eggs to a large bowl and mix with an electric handheld mixer. Beat on medium speed for 1-2 minutes to mix.
Take the cake batter and divide it into six separate bowls of varying sizes. On average, each bowl contains a bit less than one cup of cake batter.
Add two to four drops of gel food colouring to each bowl. Use a different colour for each bowl. Mix it well and stir it until the colour is as bright as you want it to be.
Cover the bottom of the bundt pan with the red batter. You can spoon it in or dump it in. Make sure it goes all the way around the pan.
After that, make the orange batter and put it right on top of the red batter. Once more, make sure it goes all the way around the bundt pan.
Repeat with yellow, green, blue, and purple cake batter.Bake for 35–45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the cake comes out clean or with moist crumbs. Wet batter requires longer cooking.
Let the bundt cake cool for 15 minutes in the hot pan before turning it over onto a cooling rack to cool fully. Then glaze it.
Put all the glaze ingredients in a bowl and mix them together until the glaze is the right consistency for you.It shouldn't be so thin that the glaze just falls off the cake; it should be thick enough to pour
You can change how much powdered sugar and heavy cream you use.Pour the glaze over the Bundt cake, and then add colourful sprinkles right away.
