Simple, semi-homemade Easter Cookie Bars with 5 ingredients will satisfy any sweet taste. Crispy surface, soft and chewy inside, loaded with chocolate chips and pastel Easter M&Ms. These dessert bars are foolproof.
– 1 bag (17.5 oz) sugar cookie mix – 1 bag (17.5 oz) chocolate chip cookie mix – 2 large egg – 1 cup (2 sticks) salted butter softened – 1 cup Easter M&M's divided
Ingredients
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. A baking pan measuring 9 by 13 inches should be prepared by coating it with cooking spray or lining it with parchment paper.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the dry sugar cookie mix and the chocolate chip cookie mix. Mix until combined. In order to blend, take a whisk.
Add eggs and softened butter. Beat a stand mixer with the paddle attachment or an electric hand mixer on medium speed for 2-3 minutes (increasing speed as needed) to make smooth cookie dough.
It is recommended that the Easter M&M candies be incorporated into the mixture at a rate of three-quarters of a cup.
The cookie dough should be spread out in a gentle manner into the prepared pan, and then the remaining quarter cup of Easter M&Ms should be sprinkled on top.
If you stick a toothpick in the middle and only get bits, the cake is done. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and set. The middle should still be a light colour.
The cookie bars should be removed from the oven and allowed to cool completely before being cut into squares, which should take between one and two hours.
