Crispy Mediterranean Air Fryer Chicken Thighs Recipe

Warm spices, lemon juice and zest, and garlic make crispy, tender Air Fryer Mediterranean Chicken Thighs ideal. Simple dinner recipe for every night of the week! 

– 1.5 to 2 lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs 6 to 8 chicken thigh – 2 Tbsp olive oil – Zest and juice of 1 lemon – 1 tsp Sumac – 1 tsp ground cumin – 1 tsp paprika – 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon – 1/2 tsp allspice – 1 tsp kosher salt

Mix sumac, ground cumin, paprika, cinnamon, allspice, and sea salt in a small bowl.

Put chicken thighs or breasts in a large zip lock bag or freezer bag with olive oil, lemon zest, juice, and spice blend. Dry with paper towels. Seal the bag and marinate the thighs.

Marinade 15–24 hours or fry chicken immediately. Chicken marinates best for 15 minutes. If you don't have time to marinate the chicken, mix the ingredients with your hands in a bowl.

Spray air fryer basket lightly with cooking spray. Start the air fryer at 375 degrees for a few minutes.

Air-fry chicken thighs with the rounded side down in one layer (or two batches if your air fryer is too small). Air-fry 14 min.To crisp, flip and air-fry chicken thighs for 4–6 minutes.

Air-fry chicken breasts 9 minutes per side at 350. Bone-in chicken thighs air-fry 10 minutes per side at 375.

A 165-degree F chicken is done. For an accurate reading, place an instant read thermometer in the thickest part of the thigh (I use the largest) and wait until the numbers stop moving.
