Berry Danish Easiest Recipe Ever

Our classic Berry Danish has a velvety cream cheese filling, glazed berries, crumble topping, and powdered sugar frosting. Choose breakfast, snack, or dessert!  

Ingredient

– 2 sheets puff pastry thawed For the cream cheese filling – 8 ounces cream cheese softened – 2 tablespoons granulated sugar – 1 teaspoon vanilla extract For the berry filling – 1/2 cup triple berry preserve – 4 teaspoons cornstarch – 2/3 cup fresh blueberries – 2/3 cup fresh raspberrie – 2/3 cup fresh sliced strawberrie For the crumble topping – 3 tablespoons light brown sugar packed – 2 tablespoons unsalted butter melted – 1/3 cup all-purpose flour For assembly – 1 large egg – splash of water – 1 cup powdered sugar – 1-2 tablespoons whole milk

Introduction 

Preheat oven to 400°F, line two large sheet trays with paper, and set aside. Place one puff pastry sheet on a clean surface. Cut the pastry fold-wise into 3 pieces. 

Step 1

Cut these in half for 6 rectangles. Place these on your sheet tray without touching. Use second puff pastry sheet. Score each pastry's rectangle edge with a paring knife, about ½ to ¾ inch. 

Step 2

The pastry should have fork holes in the smaller rectangle you scored. Mix cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla with a fork to make the filling. 

Step 3

Level the cream cheese filling in the pastries' centers, avoiding the edges. Each pastry will have around a spoonful of filling. In a microwave-safe bowl,

microwave berry preserves 15–30 seconds. Dissolve cornstarch. Add blueberries, raspberries, and strawberries to coat. Limit berry filling to the border.  

Step 5

Brown sugar and butter should be combined in a medium bowl for crumble topping. Stir in the flour with a fork until wet and crumbly. Cover berries with crumble.  

Step 6

In another basin, whisk egg and water. Egg wash the puff pastry's edge with a pastry brush. For fluffy, golden brown sides, bake 13-15 minutes. Cool pastries on wire racks.  

Step 7

As the pastries cool, smooth powdered sugar and milk to glaze. Thick, pourable glazing. Use 1 tablespoon milk and add more for your desired consistency. Smoothly glaze cakes. Completely heat/cool.
