Through the real story of Shirley Chisolm (Regina King), the movie tells how she became the first Black and first female President of the United States in 1972. The movie was directed by John Ridley. Shirley came out on Netflix on March 22 after a small run in theaters. It stars King, the late Lance Reddick, Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Terrence Howard, among others.
